IGCC has four membership categories, each reflecting a different relationship with Indigenous food culture and the collective's mission. Wherever you sit, membership is about contributing to — and being held by — a global community of Indigenous food leaders.

Ambassadors

IGCC Chefs

Indigenous chefs and culinary practitioners who are knowledge holders — the heart of the collective.

Producer members

IGCC Purveyors

Indigenous growers, gatherers, farmers, and food producers who supply or champion Indigenous food systems.

Youth members

The next generation

Indigenous young people pursuing pathways in food, hospitality, agriculture, and cultural heritage.

Associate members

Invited supporters

Non-Indigenous supporters — chefs, educators, researchers, and advocates — invited to help advance IGCC's purposes.

How it works

The path to membership

Because membership is invitation-based, there's a process behind every new member — one that keeps the collective grounded in real relationships. Here's how it works, start to finish.

You express your interest

Fill in the form below and tell us a little about yourself and your connection to Indigenous food culture.

IGCC reviews and forwards it on

Our team reviews your submission and passes it to the Delegate representing your Indigenous nation.

Your Nation's Delegate assesses the referral

The Delegate considers your connection to your nation and food culture, then makes a recommendation to the Trust Board.

You receive a formal Invitation to Apply

If the Trust Board is encouraged by the referral, you'll be sent a formal invitation and the full IGCC Membership Application Form.

You complete the full application

This is where you share more about your background, your cultural connection, and your vision for membership in depth.

The Trust Board makes its decision

The Board reviews your application against IGCC's values and purposes, and lets you know the outcome — typically within 30 days.

Submitting this form does not guarantee membership. IGCC membership is by invitation, and all expressions of interest are reviewed by your Nation's Delegate and the Trust Board before any invitation is issued.
